FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Why did you pick Virgin Voyages?

We want you to come as you are and feel seen, so to us, there's no better cruise line for NeuroCruise™ than one that thinks outside the box! Just like their founder Sir Richard Branson (himself an amazing ADHD success story!), Virgin is revolutionary, and it shows. We love their style, their service, and their vibe.

What’s included in the price?

On every single Virgin voyage, the cruise fare includes your stateroom accommodations, dining at any of their 20+ eateries (including the extra-fancy specialty places!), and amazing entertainment all over the ship. What's even better? Virgin's cruise fare also includes free wifi, unlimited group fitness classes, and unlimited essential drinks like sparkling water, drip coffee, non-pressed juices and soda (these things often cost extra on other cruise lines). And most impressive of all, Virgin covers the tips for their crew--no more paying an extra 18-20% on top of your fare. Learn more here (but don't forget to come back here to book!).

The cruise fare for NeuroCruise™ also includes special incentives, swag, and themed activities just for us that are available on this sailing only. See the Details section for more info on the activities that are being planned.

What’s not included?

Feeling a little extra? Virgin Voyages does offer premium add-ons for your cruise experience like spa services, shopping, and port excursions. Depending on participant interest, we may also host an exclusive group port excursion. These options incur additional fees and are not included in the cruise fare.

While essential drinks are covered, premium drinks are a separate cost. However, instead of forcing every person in a cabin to buy an expensive drink package and not letting anyone share, Virgin offers Bar Tab. With Bar Tab, only the people who want it have to get it (and receive an extra $50 free for every $300 pre-purchase!), and they can spend it on anyone they wish. Learn more about Bar Tab here.

Travel insurance is highly recommended and available to purchase up until 120 days before sailing, but is not included.

Airfare is not included in this rate.

Who is this cruise for?

Our focus is people with ADHD, but we know ADHD also overlaps with other conditions. We welcome any and everyone in or adjacent to the neurodiversity community, including friends, partners, coaches and supporters! Go at your own pace--anyone who attends will find plenty of opportunities either to be as on-the-go or as laid-back as they'd like.

What themed events are included?

See the Details section for an idea of the activities that are being planned. As more people "come aboard," we'll be making some decisions based specifically on what the majority of our confirmed sailors want to do. Join our mailing list to get the latest updates and vote on your favorite ideas!

How structured is this event?

Just to be clear: this is a meetup. It's not a conference. The vibe here is "come as you are and choose your own adventure." While we will have events taking place each day, you aren't required to attend, and we won't be expecting it. As neurodivergent people, we're all aware that sometimes our energy levels fluctuate, and there are things we like and things we don't. We want the cruise itself to be the shining star and we want you to be able to enjoy plenty of downtime, so we're not creating a packed, go-go-go schedule. There will be special events at set times that give you a chance to meet up with other ADHD friends, but for large parts of the trip, your time will be your own to do with as you please (which you'll need, because the ship is amazing!). Still have questions? Contact us!

What's the minimum age to book a stateroom?

To set sail on Virgin Voyages, guests must be aged 18 years or older. A guest's age is based on the first date of sailing, so if you'll turn 18 before the trip starts, you're golden.

I booked on my own. Can I still participate?

Due to capacity restrictions, we can only guarantee inclusion for guests who book directly with JKD Global Travel (either by reaching out to us directly to book, or by completing a self-service booking using our unique links as featured on this page). Guests who book directly with Virgin Voyages outside of our links or who book through another travel agency will not be able to participate in NeuroCruise™ events.

What documents do I need?

A passport is the best ID document for cruise travel because it's official verification of your identity and your citizenship, both of which are required to be able to cruise. The expiration date listed on your passport must be at least 6 months after the last date of your cruise or you won't be allowed to board.

U.S. Citizens can cruise with a birth certificate on most sailings from the U.S. if their birth certificate meets specific requirements.

Your identity must be consistent across all of the documents you are using--so if you've had a name change, you might have additional requirements.

U.S. residents can learn more about travel documents here.
